NCDC Considers Treating Coronavirus Patients From Home

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has affirmed that it may consider treating patients at their respective homes. This is due to the shortage of bed spaces in the country isolation centers.

This was disclosed by the NCDC boss, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu during a press briefing report by the Presidential Task force on COVID-19. He stated that there were shortage of bed spaces particularly in Kano, Lagos and Abuja due to the high cases recorded there.

He also stated thus;
“We will always be honest with Nigerians, we are struggling at the moment, we might have to adapt our strategy because of the realities we face over the next few days and weeks.

“As we do that we will make that clear to Nigerians. Our policy hasn’t changed but the pressure is there and it might have to change in the next few days.”

This is coming after the country has recorded over 2,170 cases of the pandemic virus.
