Covid-19: With No Travel History, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr, DAAR Comm. Chairman, Has Tested Positive.

Raymond Dokpesi Jnr, Chairman of DAAR Communications Plc, owners of African Independent Television, AIT has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.


Dokpesi Jnr in a short message to staff members in Abuja on Monday, revealed that he has been into self-isolation in the past week, before developing malaria symptoms as well as started coughing.

Dokpesi Jnr developed suspicion may have contracted coronavirus and contacted the NCDC for a test, which came back with a positive result.

However, the DAAR Communications Chairman is said have no recent travel history. He advised everyone who have had contact and interacted with him in recent times to go for a Covid-19 test.

His message read; “I got a call this morning confirming the result is COVID-19 positive. I am leaving now to the Gwagwalada Isolation Centre for treatment and hope to be back in two weeks.

“Many of you may have interacted with me during our various meetings and I would advise you to get tested as soon as possible.”

It was gathered that contact tracing has began to determine the number of persons he may have had contact with.
