UPDATE: Police open fire on Protesters in Delta State over Extension of Lockdown



A yet to be identified young man protesting against the extended two weeks lockdown in Delta state has been allegedly shot by an unknown policeman in Sapele.
The victim was part of hundreds of angry women and youths demanding for provision of palliatives measures from the state government to alleviate the effects of the lockdown.
Sources say the victim was shot by the policeman who had gone to maintain peace and other in the wake of the protest.
He is said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
“As security people were trying to disperse the crowd, they resisted. I think it was in the process the guy got shot on the waist,” the source who spoke in confidence said
Governor Okowa of Delta state had on Tuesday issued a dusk to dawn curfew in the state to extend the lockdown in the state for another two weeks.
