Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Nigozi Adichie' father, Professor James Nwoye
Adichie, the father of renowned Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has died. Aged 88 years, Late Professor Adichie died on Wednesday night June 10.
Before his death, he was admitted into the Chira Memorial Hospital in Awkuzu, Oyi local government area of Anambra State.
The Emeritus Professor of Statistics and Mathematics at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) was the first Nigerian Professor of Statistics. He became a Professor of Statistics in 1976.
He celebrated his 88th birthday on March 1.
He is survived by his wife and children.
