A veteran actress and filmmaker Chizoba Boye is dead. It was gathered that the actress died after a brief illness. Chizoba Boye, who is the wife of veteran filmmaker, Sam Boye, was a regular face on television series, ‘Tinsel.’ They recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary. She's age 52.

The motion picture industry in Nigeria has been thrown into mourning again with the death of veteran actress and filmmaker Chizoba Boye.

Late Chizoba, a strong advocate for Nollywood Igbo, would be remembered for her pioneering role in ‘Living in Bondage,’ ‘Checkmate,’ ‘Scandals’ among others.

Covid-19: Pharmacist Die After Drinking Chemical Concoction He Develop To Treat Coronavirus

An Indian pharmacist was confirmed dead on Saturday May 9, after he drank a chemical concoction he developed in a bid to treat Coronavirus.

47-year-old K. Sivanesan who worked with Chennai-based Sujatha Biotech, an Ayurvedic and herbal products company which was founded 30 years ago, died on the spot while his colleague, a managing director of the company who is an ophthalmologist by qualification, was hospitalised after he fainted soon after he ingested the chemical component.

The two men reportedly ingested the chemical mixture of nitric oxide and sodium nitrate at a home in southern Chennai city.

Deputy Commissioner of Police,Ashok Kumar said;

“Our investigation revealed that Sivanesan died after drinking the preparation he claimed would help COVID-19 patients. His managing director fainted after tasting it initially. Further investigation is on.”

N.S.Vasan, designer-cum-media manager of the company said;

“Due to the lockdown, Sivanesan stayed in the city and one day told us he heard of some medicine from U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent speech for curing Coronavirus. He said it would bring more immunity and help to prevent COVID-19. Deciding to test the effect of the medicine, he went to Parry’s Corner and bought the powder. Sivanesan must have taken a heavy dosage of the ‘drug’ and he was killed instantly.

“All our products are ayurvedic. We used to test only herbal products. This was a chemical product that Sivanesan was testing though, and possibly for the first time ever.”

India currently has nearly 60,000 confirmed cases of Coronavirus. There are no approved medicines or vaccines for treating COVID-19, triggering a global race for a new drug for the disease that has killed 277,946 worldwide.

"55 Journalist" Have Died From Coronavirus In 23 Countries In The Past Two Months

A press freedom organization has claimed that 55 journalists have died worldwide from the novel Coronavirus in the past two months.

The Press Emblem Campaign (PEC), made this known in a statement ahead of World Press Freedom Day on Sunday.

The organization lamented that media workers often lack proper protection for covering the pandemic and warned that many of them were putting their lives in danger.

Since March 1, the PEC said it had recorded the deaths of 55 media workers across 23 countries from the virus, but admitted that it was unclear if all of them had become infected on the job.

“Journalists are at great risk in this health crisis because they must continue to inform, by going to hospitals, interviewing doctors, nurses, political leaders, specialists, scientists, patients,” PEC said in a statement.

It said that in a range of countries “indispensable protective measures” like physical distancing, quarantines, and mask-wearing had not been applied, especially early on in the outbreak.

Ecuador was the hardest-hit country, with at least nine journalists who had succumbed to the virus, followed by the United States, with eight, Brazil with four, and Britain and Spain with three each, it said.

The organization also echoed warnings from the United Nations that the pandemic, which had killed more than 230,000 people out of more than 3.2 million infected worldwide is being used in some countries as an excuse to crackdown on the media.

“Censorship, internet shutdowns, arbitrary detentions of journalists, physical and verbal attacks, and emergency laws that restrict press freedom have occurred in recent weeks,” the PEC said.

It added that this was particularly worrying at a time when access to reliable public information was more vital than ever.

“Transparency is paramount and can be lifesaving in a health crisis,” it said.

Bobrisky Releases Photo of His Mum As He Opens Up On Howw She Died

Bobrisky has shared a photo of his late mum on Instagram while remembering how she died 12 years ago.

He said she died in Mecca during the 2008 Hajj. He recalled telling her not to go to Mecca that year because of her high blood pressure but she insisted. She died while there.

Bobrisky wrote: “When I tell people I look so much like my mum. That is my mum o ! She is so pretty. She died in Mecca hajj 2008. She died 12yrs ago. I remember telling her not to go to hajj that yr because the doctor told us she has high blood pressure. She eventually went and died there. Dis soul here is my everything. I still cry sometimes thou because she loves me die !”

A  38 years old man identified as Iyak Ayinde, a died after contacting thunderbolts (Magun) while sleeping with a married woman in a community in Igbeti, Oyo State

The victim is who is a famous meat seller in the community and his yet to be married. Him and the lady are said to be in a secret affair

Mr Fehintola John who is the husband to the woman said “he notice that his wife his is having an a secret affair with the victim and he had severally warn her about it in which she always denied that there no such thing.

John claim his not always happy with his wife character and instead of she too change she keep doing it even after warning her severally, that what lead to him placing thunderbolts on her body so that the both pair will be embarrassed which actually comes to pass

He said, "I never regret my action even though the man now his dead, it what he loves that kills him and am ready to face the law for which ever punishment they tend to give me."
